BELLAIRE, TX – Lizi Xiong is only a junior at Bellaire High School, but she’s tackling major issues, hoping to improve the world she lives in.
“You want to find something that inspires you and makes you get up everyday, versus, something that you drag your feet into,” Xiong said.
The 16-year-old was recently awarded the Young Hearts Matter activist of the year by the Texas Council on Family Violence.
“Domestic abuse has always been a very personal topic to me. I’ve always volunteered at women’s shelters.”
