Angela Hale

Angela Hale is the founder and managing partner of Red Media Group, a strategic communications and public affairs company, and has 25 years of senior executive communications, government affairs and management experience.

Angela has been on the front lines of Texas politics working for two of the state’s top three political leaders for nearly a decade. Angela joined Red Media Group in 2009 providing government affairs and public relations consulting. She has worked closely with cities, chambers of commerce, economic development corporations, homeowners associations, non-profits and companies during the last three legislative sessions as a consultant.

She served as the top senior policy advisor and communications and media operations executive for Governor Greg Abbott during his first two terms as Attorney General, making her one of the highest ranking and longest serving women on General Abbott’s Executive Management Team.

She also served as the top policy and communications executive for Texas House Speaker, Joe Straus, guiding him though his first session as Speaker.

Angela is an expert in government affairs, crisis communications and public relations. She provides a variety of consulting services to corporations, professional services firms and non-profit organizations.

She now serves as the lead consultant for a variety of law firms including the international law firm of Akin, Gump, Straus, Hauer and Feld. She advises many clients who face regulatory and legislative issues with the government including: national non-profit organizations, Fortune 500 companies, Texas businesses and cities, chambers of commerce, economic development corporations, councils of governments and statewide associations.

Angela has advised dozens of companies, non-profits, trade associations and others by launching numerous highly successful statewide and national media campaigns and public affairs initiatives before the Texas Legislature, the Executive Branch and other agencies of government for a variety of issues, including: military and veterans issues, transportation, water, economic development, business, consumer protection, home-owner associations, energy, oil and gas, electric co-op, insurance, crime victims’ rights, sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence.

Angela is a former award winning TV reporter and veteran journalist who is an expert in crisis communications and government affairs and provides a variety of consulting services to corporations, professional services firms and non-profit organizations.

Angela specializes in strategic planning, business development, crisis communications, media relations, media training, community relations, government relations, video production and digital media.

Angela is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. She worked closely in north Texas political circles for a decade before moving to Austin to work for Attorney General Abbott.

Before launching her career in public service, Angela was an Emmy Award-winning television journalist who worked for large media corporations including CBS and Viacom. Hale worked for 15 years in the news business in Dallas, San Antonio, Laredo and Florida. She was one of the nation’s top political and investigative reporters and traveled the country covering the biggest stories of our lifetime including the 9-11 terrorist attacks.Susan Risdon

Susan Risdon is the President of Red Media Group, a strategic communications and public affairs company. After more than 15 years as Susan Risdon television news reporter, Susan decided to take her media expertise and start her own business. Susan uses her extensive media background to produce web videos, PSAs, commercials and videos for special events. Susan works as a consultant with electric cooperatives, insurance companies, corporations, law firms, and non-profits such as the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Red Media Group also provides media training for police departments, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, lawyers and other professionals.

Susan was at the center of the largest child custody case in U.S. history handling international, national and local media as the spokesperson for the San Angelo domestic violence shelter. The shelter received the original call for help that caused Texas authorities to raid the polygamist compound in Eldorado and seize more than 400 children.

As a former Emmy nominated journalist at the NBC owned and operated station, KXAS-TV/NBC 5 in Dallas-Fort Worth, Susan covered the explosion of the Space Shuttle Columbia over Texas. During her broadcasting career, Susan also reported on big stories with live coverage including the dragging death trial in Jasper, the American Airlines fatal crash in Little Rock, the Jarrell, Texas tornado that killed 27, the Wedgwood Baptist Church shooting in Fort Worth and the digging for mass graves in Juarez, Mexico.

Prior to joining NBC 5, Susan was a correspondent for The Texas Network (TXN) in the Dallas bureau. Susan also reported and anchored at KXAN News 36 in Austin, WVII-TV in Bangor, Maine. She started her TV reporting career at WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky in 1991.

Susan graduated cum laude from California State University, Northridge in 1990 receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Political Science and was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Jane McGarry

Jane McGarryJane McGarry is a media consultant for Red Media Group. Jane worked for 30 years as a TV News Reporter/ Anchor/Producer at NBC’s Dallas-Fort Worth network station KXAS-TV.

Her award-winning TV news experience (1982 to 2012) includes a Lone Star Emmy Award for “Best Newscast in Texas,” a prestigious Edward R Murrow Award for broadcast journalism, a National Gracie Award for “Best Local News Anchor in the Country,” and a previous distinction as “the most popular news anchor in the Metroplex.”

Jane currently reports, anchors and produces the “Texas Legends” series for WFAA-TV, Dallas. Her recent guests have included First Lady Laura Bush, Dallas Mavericks Owner and Entrepreneur Mark Cuban and Dallas Cowboys Legend Roger Staubach.

As a working journalist, Jane has a unique perspective and opportunity that will help your company get its message on TV, in print publications and on the Internet.

Jane also produces broadcast quality video profiles of corporate executives and entrepreneurs for use on corporate websites, social media, email blasts and for use as high quality introductions for public appearances.

Complementing the thousands of local news stories she has steadfastly covered, Jane’s national and state news reporting also included interviews at the White House, in Congress, with Fortune 500 CEOs, with Hall of Fame athletes, and even backstage with Willie Nelson. Prior to reporting the news in Texas, Jane worked at various TV and radio broadcast posts in Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University and is proud to note that her first job was working as a teenager at the hometown Dairy Queen in Illinois.

Outside of work, Jane is an active volunteer for the North Texas homeless community, shelters for the victims of domestic abuse and with breast cancer prevention, treatment and recovery.

Robin O’Connor

Robin O'connorDr. Robin O’Connor is a consultant who assists Red Media Group with a comprehensive approach to designing research methodology and contributing strategic input and preparation for creative campaigns. Dr. O’Connor brings twenty plus years of professional experience including 8 years working with Dr. Phil McGraw at Courtroom Sciences, Inc. in Irving, Texas as a Litigation analyst and jury consultant. Dr. O’Connor assisted Dr. Phil McGraw in preparation of the expert witnesses and strategic analysis in the “Mad Cow” trial in Amarillo where Oprah Winfrey walked away victorious from the lawsuit brought on by the beef industry.

Dr. O’Connor has also served as a jury consultant to many Fortune 500 companies, privately owned businesses as well as the federal government in various stages of litigation. Dr. O’Connor has conducted litigation research including focus groups, mock trials, jury, shadow juries and witness preparation throughout the United States. Clients have included: Coca-Cola, John Deere, Cirrus logic, Alcatel, Computer Associates, Columbia HCA, Humana, 3M, Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Productions, Allstate, CAN, Georgia Pacific. Dr. O’Connor has experience in criminal case preparation and jury selection. Dr. O’Connor selected the jury for the federal government’s prosecution of a high profile murder case in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. O’Connor earned a Ph.D (behavioral medicine, clinical and health psychology) and an M.A. (clinical psychology) from North Texas State University.

 Kraig Kirchem

Kraig KirchemKraig Kirchem is an award-winning video professional with two decades of experience in television production and post-production. A passionate storyteller, Kraig produces high-quality projects from script to screen using his producing, writing, shooting and editing techniques. Whether coordinating a shoot on location, coaching talent or editing multiple projects in the office, Kraig is focused, organized and efficient. Clients and colleagues alike request him to work on their projects because they know the final product will exceed their expectations through his creative vision… and he’s a fun guy to work with.

Technically speaking, Kraig is a self-taught software enthusiast, having mastered numerous pieces of software including Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, Photoshop, After Effects, Avid, Premiere Pro, video transcoding and compression, codec deliverables, color correction, DVD creation/encoding and HD workflows.

 Jon Lincycomb

Jonlincy CombJon Lincycomb is the primary director, videographer, editor and cinematographer for Red Media Group. Jon is an Emmy-nominated photojournalist who has established himself as an original, smart and creative storyteller in the Austin area and beyond. During his 10-year stint in the news business, Jon chased menacing storms, and was often the first on the scene to fatality accidents, house fires and S.W.A.T. standoffs. Through the creation of his independent company, Copperhead Media, Jon has had the opportunity to travel the globe, showcasing his broad range of superior photography and editing skills. The Whistle Girl of Granada is Jon’s first full-length documentary.

Christine Radel

Christine RadelChristine Radel is a creative marketing communications consultant for Red Media Group.  Chris was formerly the Creative Director and Managing Partner with DMP&G, a full service ad agency and commercial photography studio in Austin, TX for 13 years. Over the last decade, she has assisted Texas businesses to fully harness their capabilities by lending her innovative marketing expertise and unique approach to discovering, and achieving, profitable marketing results.

For Chris, creativity involves finding a true balance—whether it’s between artistic inspiration and airtight strategy, or tenacious hard work while enjoying who you’re collaborating with. She evolved from the steadfast cocktail napkin mantra to a solutions-driven heavy hitter by striking just the right chords to produce great results for a diverse range of motivated clients. For her, it’s about going “beyond creativity” — by being strategically straightforward and true to the client. Always open to feedback and input, Chris works side by side with this talented team to uncover the spark that will grab the audience’s imagination and leave a lasting impression. With more than 20 years of advertising experience, it’s safe to say that Chris has perfected the art of perspective. She endeavors to understand each individual company and their needs and has worked extensively with B2B and B2C clients in a wide range of fields, including health care, banking and financial services, commercial and residential construction, software and technology companies, oil / gas industries, human services, and agriculture, to name a few.

Nefty Gonzalez

Nefty Gonzalez is a freelance photographer for Red Media Group. Nefty specializes in High-definition video and is an award winning videographer, director, still photographer and non-linear editor. Nefty has over two decades of experience and is one of the nation’s top videographers. He has traveled the world shooting and directing a variety of projects including shoots in Cuba, Mexico and at the Olympics.

He is also a talented artist and has extensive experience directing PSAs, political ads, corporate videos and dozens of state agency videos. Before joining Red Media Group, Nefty worked for NBC/Universal in Dallas-Fort Worth. He also has worked at the News of Texas, KXAN-TV in Austin and KTXS-TV in Abilene. Nefty has been honored to win the Headliner Award, the Texas Freedom of Information Award and numerous Associated Press and Katie Award.
